Cricket is believed to have been invented in the fields of rural England by shepherds tending their flocks. Eventually aristocrats put in their three penn’orth and cricket developed into England’s national gentleman’s game. Despite the vagaries of the typical British weather, for many enthusiasts in this country the game of cricket is synonymous with summer and idyllic sunny days, picnics, tea and sandwiches (or perhaps beer and sunburn in some quarters!?).
However you view it, cricket has a style and pace all of its own, which invites sponsorship and support from loyal supporters and passionate players.
